Camp Gan Israel camps, held numerous times throughout the year are eagerly awaited highlights for hundreds of Jewish children. The camps' action packed programs includes a range of challenging outdoor activities, team building activities & educational workshops, all designed to enhance campers’ self esteem, confidence, resilience, social skills, appreciation for the outdoors and other essential life skills.
Studies have shown that intensive camping has a significant and transformative impact on identity development. Overnight camping creates a total retreat environment, away from daily distractions; it emphasizes joy, celebration and fun. It provides countless educational opportunities. Camp Gan Israel overnight camps transform youth into spirited and engaged adults, laying the groundwork for strong Jewish communities.

Our programs includes a wide range of performing and visual arts, sports and outdoor activities, which challenge campers to develop their individual skills and talents. Youth thrive and develop in the relaxed and nurturing camp environment. Furthermore, academically challenged students are given the opportunity to shine in an overnight camp setting.
A large percentage of our campers come from disadvantaged homes and low socio/economic backgrounds, including newly arrived migrants, children of struggling single parents and children from large families. Although every effort is made to keep the cost of camp to a minimum, many families cannot afford camp tuition.

Kids often report that their lives are stressful, socially complex, and they feel pressured to be involved in activities that are beyond the range of where they are developmentally comfortable. The aim of Camp Welfare is to provide ALL Jewish children throughout Australia with a high quality summer camp experience; regardless of their capacity to pay for these services. Our goal is to ensure that no child misses out on this opportunity to develop important life skills.
